Lilly wants to be like just her mama and dada. She loves to put her feet in our shoes, wear our clothes, carry my purses around, drink from our cups, wear my headbands, etc. I'm sure all toddlers are like this, but it is sure fun to watch. Right now, we are the coolest people in her world. I realize that there will come a time when she will want nothing to do with us, and she may even think we have bad taste... so I'll enjoy this wonderful stage while I can!

Misc. Monday: Merbaby
Lilly loves dolls, so I have been thinking that I should make her baby some clothes. (Especially since her doll's bottoms always fall off). I was searching blogs for some easy patterns or ideas when I ran across these and just about died! I have to make set for her doll.

Wee-One Wednesday: Fever
I thought I would show you what Lilly looks like when she is sick. Anyone who knows Lilly, knows that she doesn't cuddle or stay still for very long. There were times when Dan and I actually enjoyed the fact that she had a fever because she let us love on her so much. Just don't tell her we said so!

Misc. Monday: Curtains
I missed Saturday because Lilly had her first fever. Aren't we blessed? It took 16 months for her to get sick! She was really needy and whimpered or cried for 3 days. It made me feel very sorry for parents who have colicky babies. Anyway, here are some curtains that I modified in our front bathroom. They were so boring and sad before and with a little ribbon and some pompoms, they are now cute and cheerful little curtains.

Wee-One Wedneday: Santa Ana Zoo
We took Lilly to the Santa Ana zoo on our last day of Spring Break. She wore her new "zoo" dress with giraffes, zebras, and lions on it. Even though this little zoo has none of these animals, we had a great time. Lilly loved the ducks most of all, and got quite upset when we would not let her swim in their pond! This was also the first day that she lifted up her dress to the world. She loves to kiss everything right now - herself in the mirror, trees, dolls, clothes, you name it, she'll kiss it. Toddlers are soo much fun!!

Misc. Monday: New Camera
Dan got me a SLR camera and I love it! It can do so many amazing things, but if you read any of my previous posts, I don't like reading instruction booklets. Which causes me to get super frustrated when pictures don't turn out the way I expect them to. I love the artistic look of having the background blurry or detailed closeups. Here are some pics I took trying out my camera on flowers from our garden. I also made a modified terrarium for our dining room table. Modified, meaning it does not have a lid. Would that make it a dish garden? Either way, it's pretty cute.

Sew Crafty Saturday: Quilts
I saw these beautiful Moda fabric squares online and decided I had to do something with them. A full size quilt seemed like a daunting task, so I decided to make a quilt for Lilly's doll. She absolutely adores her doll. She kisses her, hugs her, pats her back, pushes her in the doll stroller, and calls her "babeee." Lilly was so excited when my mom brought over my old doll cradle. We set it up with the new bedding I made, and told her that her baby needed a nap. It was very sweet. The quilt turned out pretty cute too. I even made an extra one as a gift.

Wee-One Wednesday: Fountain
Our crazy, little girl loves to be outside. She cries when it is time to come inside, and is content to stay dirty all day long. One day in the back yard, Lilly got it into her mind that she wanted to play in the fountain. With determination and her toungue sticking out, Lilly made it there and boy was she excited!

Misc. Monday: Wreath
Yes, I did change my blog template... the old one wouldn't let me add a banner type title and I really wanted to...
I missed my first "sew crafty Saturday" entry because we were out of town this weekend visiting Lilly's Cousin Michael and his family up North. It was a nice visit, but Lilly did not enjoy the 5 hour car ride! I made this yarn wreath for our bedroom. I think it turned out pretty cute. I used a floral foam wreath from the dollar store as the base. I got the idea from http://www.theconstantgatherer.blogspot.com/ . Hers are amazing! You should really check them out. She uses a straw wreath and batting under her yarn and adorns them with pretty little vintage items, so very creative.

Wee-One Wednesday: Hair-do
Lilly was a bald baby. She was bald for quite a bit of her first year actually. I never had the heart to glue bows on her head or make her wear giant headbands, but I always dreamed of bows and pigtails. Well, I am pleased to say that I have finally been able to give her a sweet "Pebbles" hair-do. How fun are little girls?
